Philippe Dodart

Philippe Dodard studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (now ENARTS) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1978, he obtained a scholarship to the École Internationale de Bordeaux, France, where he specialized in educational graphics, perfecting his skills in this captivating field. His evolution on the art scene took off in the 1980s at Galerie Marassa and his work evolved successfully embracing sculpture, artistic Iron works, and high-end jewelry design (JIVAN).
Throughout this maturation, Dodard’s work freed itself from any school and conventions to explore the cultures fused in the constitution of Caribbean identity: The Taino-Arawak, African, and European.
Dodard regularly participates in major international art fairs and biennials. Philippe has collaborated with many researchers, collectors, and institution among them Donna Karan, Royal Caribbean and just recently, Stella Jean for the Haitian delegation’s costume at the Paris Olympic Games.
